Mass Air Flow (MAF) and How to Care For

Mass Air Flow, is a sensor for measuring air flow into the engine room. To maintain the performance of Engine Control Unit (ECU), the incoming air has to be measured, and to obtain the ratio of air and fuel are ideal or called Water to Flow Ratio (AFR) in order to obtain maximum combustion.
MAF, generally is above the air filter box that leads to the throttle body. MAF sensor dirty vulnerable due to dust and dirt that carry over from outside the car, the consequences if the dirt pile, MAF does not work for maximum air flow required reading machine. The result is reduced engine performance and fuel consumption became more extravagant.
Here are the steps to clean the MAF Sensor
- Prepare two screwdrivers (+) and (-) and electronic cleaning fluid.
- Remove the cover slowly MAF
- Disconnect the MAF sensor carefully from its holder by pulling it up from the hole. Not to damage the sealing ring underneath.
-Sensor with electronic cleaner spray in the direction of wire that is in the Air Sensor, wires are fragile and easily damaged, so do not wipe and avoid using such high pressure air compressor or dryer.
-Dry the MAF sensor for a few minutes, after which the tide again in place carefully into the hole, then tighten the screw it back.
Electronit-Spray cleaner on the harness clip, and let it dry, then reinstall.
